Franklin Square is a hamlet and census-designated place in the town of Hempstead, Nassau County, New York. It is on the South Shore of Long Island, west of the village of Garden City. The community is served by the Franklin Square Union Free School District, which consists of three elementary schools (John Street, Lincoln, and Washington), a middle school (Martin Luther King Jr.), and a high school (Franklin Square Senior High School).
